Wendy Benscoter is the Executive Director for Shreveport Common Inc., which is working with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and the City of Shreveport on the arts-led revitalization of an endangered, historic urban area. Wendy is also the Louisiana representative for the National Consortium for Creative Placemaking. She served as the state liaison for a 10-community Louisiana Creative Communities Initiative piloted by the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in partnership with the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation. Join us as Wendy discusses building partner relationships, redevelopment and the many wonderful programs offered by several local nonprofit organizations in Shreveport-Bossier City.
Shreveport Common hosts some exciting events a few of which are Thirsty Thursdays which brings in food trucks drinks from fatty arbuckles and live music, Exercise Saturdays in Caddo Common Park and recently had a special Christmas concert called Merry Tubamas.
