State approves funding for initial phases of project

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Plans have been approved and finalized for an overhaul of the former federal government operations building in downtown Shreveport. It’s set to become the new State Office Building for Northwest Louisiana once complete.

“The building was purchased in the spring of last year. The order of demolition for the old parking garage was issued this past fall. It has been granted and just the week before last the Office Facility Corporation with authorization to fund the initial phases of the project which is demolition and abatement,” state Rep. Cedric Glover said.
