The countdown clock has ticked down; Wednesday, May 29 is the opening of the area’s newest Andy’s Frozen Custard at 5760 Youree Drive. The franchise first came into the north Louisiana market in 2020 with a location at 3117 Airline Drive. It joined an area already crowded with sweet, frozen treats.

The Shreveport location is just a Capital One Bank branch away from Happy Belly’s Italian Ice Factory which sells gelato and frozen custard. SweetPort is a hop and skip away on Line Avenue across from Byrd High School, the Streetcar Station in the East Bank District is a huge hit on hot weekends, serving up a lengthy list of regular and creamy sno-ball flavors as well as some ice cream. Holy Angel’s new Howdy Ice Cream on Douglas Drive in Bossier City has a small but delicious assortment of premium ice cream.
