Shreveport native and architecture standout aims to shape the future skyline

SHREVEPORT, La. — A Shreveport native is drawing up big plans — and they just might shape the city’s future.

Lilly England, a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), finished at the top of her architecture class with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Now, she’s setting her sights on a career that could leave a lasting mark on the buildings and spaces we live, work, and gather in.

While at SCAD, England was also a standout swimmer. In a team Instagram post, England shared about her experience. “I’m Lilly. I am a senior in architecture at SCAD, and I think my favorite swimming memory would probably be breaking a minute my sophomore year,” she said.

The discipline honed in the pool, she says, carried over into the demanding world of architectural study.
