SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Salvation Army of NWLA and Louisiana House Representative Tammy Phelps (District 3) work to feed the underserved and homeless community for the annual “Ambassador for Good Day.”

The annual outreach event highlights The Salvation Army’s commitment to its community: to share hope and serve others during seasons of great need.

The Salvation Army served the homeless community outside Hope House with Louisiana House Representative Tammy Phelps (District 3), “So today was just a real flashback opportunity to serve those in need.”

Joy Porter, a case manager for Hope House, explained that it is a day facility where the homeless can shower, do laundry, and enjoy daily lunch. The staff also assists the homeless in securing housing and Medicaid.
