If you blinked, you might have missed it.

Shreveport’s food scene has been on fire lately, with incredible new spots and experiences popping up all over town.

Chef Blake Jackson has introduced two exciting concepts in the Provenance neighborhood: Mae & Co., a laid-back oyster bar, and Heron, a swanky, cool destination that highlights the chef’s refined side. At Heron, you’ll find elegant dishes, phenomenal drinks, and a setting that makes you feel downright fancy. Pro tip: visit on a night when Winston Hall is playing piano—it’s a magical experience.

At Mae & Co., you’ll enjoy strong drinks, a great atmosphere, and food that’s out of this world. Favorites include the Akaushi beef debris fries and the half bird. The sides? Top-notch—don’t miss the hand-battered onion rings; they’re absolute fire. Pair your meal with a stiff cocktail or a local draft beer. Two Heat Wave margaritas, and you’ll be set!

Chop Shop Shreveport has been open for a few months now, and it’s exciting to see them really shine. Emily and Scott Sample of Sample Farms are working hard to bring farm-fresh goodness to the neighborhood. Stop by for meats, produce, and goodies from local farms like Sample, Mahaffey, Smith Family, and Morell. On Thursdays and Fridays, their smash burgers or sandwich specials are a must. And for a mid-week pick-me-up, check out their “Vegan Wednesday” for plant-powered meals.

While you’re at Chop Shop, pop into L.E. & Chalk for something unique—they always have something cool going on. And don’t leave the area without swinging by M on Azalea Drive to grab something special from more great people in the neighborhood.

Just up the way on Line Avenue, St. Laurent Pizza is gearing up to open its doors. Helmed by Kyle Hadley, Caleb Harkins, and Rodrigo Mondragon, this pizza-by-the-slice joint is bringing back the pre-Covid PizzaRev vibes (if you know, you know). Expect brick oven New York-style pizza, local beer on draft, natural wine, and a killer cocktail menu. And don’t forget the arcade: Ms. Pac-Man, air hockey, and pinball.

Speaking of Line Avenue, Koi Asian Fusion and Sonora Prime are both poised to open soon. Honestly, the restaurant lineup on Line Avenue, could stand up to a lot of big cities.

For your libations, go check out what Chase Boytim has going on at Fatty Arbuckles this month. He’s turned the whole bar into a ski lodge! With the help of some great friends, he’s created an awesome holiday experience in downtown Shreveport. Think festive cocktails, a cozy ski-lodge vibe, and the region’s best bourbon collection. Even better, he’s raising money for a great cause, so stop by for a drink and help spread some holiday cheer.

There’s a lot to be thankful for this time of year. Get out, eat local, drink local, and have yourself a good time. You deserve it.
