Caddo schools track & field partners with HBCU Athletic Conference

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—The HBCU Athletic Conference’s outdoor track and field championship has been held in Shreveport for three years and will continue for at least three more after an announcement on Wednesday.

“Our board is excited about this opportunity. We are proud of our facility. We’re proud of what the taxpayers here in Caddo Parish and Bossier have allowed us to do, and this is what this facility is for,” said Caddo Parish School Board sports Director Anthony Tisdale.

The conference and Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission announced Wednesday the partnership has been extended to 2028.

“We’re anticipating close to 18 to 20 teams to compete, so this won’t just affect our kids. This is gonna help some kids who come from small towns or small parishes to help them realize their dreams,” said Tisdale.
