The Strand Theatre speaks on celebrating centennial, its history

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The historic Strand Theatre’s patron services manager speaks to Brittney Hazelton about the theatre’s centennial year and how the theatre benefits the Shreveport-Bossier community.

ArkLaTex Artistry’s Brittney Hazelton talks to Taylor Akers, the patron services manager of The Strand Theatre, which is celebrating 100 years with performances throughout the season.

Located on 619 Louisiana Avenue, the beautiful theatre decored with ornate box seats, gilded mirrors, colors of deep burgundy and gold, and lit by dazzling chandeliers, began celebrating its centennial year in July 2024, by aiming to bring more well-known and large productions to its stage.
