Soul Bowl unites Shreveport in football, pride and community

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Two of Shreveport’s biggest rivals, Green Oaks and Booker T. Washington High School, are coming together ahead of the Soul Bowl.

The weekend of fun cross-town rivalry kicked off with a battle of the bands. Both bands were on hand, accompanied by dancers, showcased pride through heavy percussion, crystal-clear horns competing for 365 days of bragging rights.

“It’s been nerve-wracking to be honest, but in the end it was pretty, pretty nice to do pretty nice to see the other drum lines and what they’re capable of and what we’re capable of, and it was an exciting show,” said Green Oaks snare drummer Savier James.
