Pianist-composer Aldo Lopez-Gavilon is one of the biggest musical stars in Cuba where he is known as “jazz Royalty.” But Shreveport Symphony Music Director Michael Butterman had never heard of him nor his music in 2018 when he was introduced to both via public radio.
Michael was in his grayish Mazda CX9 hearing a dynamic rendition of music he wasn’t familiar with but was impressed by its sound.
