From Riverbend Rotary of Shreveport

Shreveport, LA – Riverbend Rotary of Shreveport is proud to announce the upcoming dedication of the recently installed flagpole for the Sheriff’s Department, on May 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Shreveport Police & Firefighters Memorial on the riverfront in downtown Shreveport. This event aims to bring awareness to families and friends in a spirit of support for those that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our community.

Attendees from the community are invited to join us for a moment of silence and the raising of the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Department flag on this newly installed flagpole. The police and firefighter’s memorial is located in Barnwell Gardens south of the R.S. Barnwell Memorial Garden and Art Center, across from Riverview Hall on Clyde Fant Parkway.

The Shreveport Police & Firefighters Memorial was built in 1999 in honor of the many men and women who courageously gave their lives in the line of duty. The memorial is a permanent reminder of their ultimate contribution to public safety and their sincere desire to serve the citizens of Shreveport-Bossier.
