Southern Maid Donuts – HOT HOT HOT!

Here’s a couple of photos of the legendary Southern Maid donut shop from back in the day. It was located at the corner of Greenwood Road and Hearne Avenue, right across from Willis Knighton.

Bruce Jones, owner and operator, moved here from Dallas in 1941 and opened a store on Texas Avenue (pictures coming soon of that one) in the West End area of town. He was in the donut business for 25 years until the time of his death. His grandson, Mike Jones, runs the business today.
