Honorees Announced for the 2024 Virginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman and Young Woman Awards

SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA –The Shreveport Times and Red River Bank are proud to announce the honorees for the 2024 Virigina K. Shehee Most Influential Woman and Young Woman Awards. This prestigious award is named for civic leader, businesswoman, and philanthropist Virginia K. Shehee, who passed away in 2015 after decades of service to Northwest Louisiana. The Most Influential Woman and Young Woman Award honors women and young women who have made significant contributions to our community and who may do much of their work behind the scenes. This year’s honorees will be recognized at the 8th Annual Viriginia K. Shehee Most Influential Woman and Young Woman Awards on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at East Ridge Country Club.

Twelve women will be recognized in two categories: six women for the Most Influential Woman Award and six young women for the Most Influential Young Woman Award. One from each category will be recognized at the event as the Most Influential Woman and Most Influential Young Woman for 2024. This year’s honorees include:

Most Influential Woman Honorees:

  • Pam Atchison, Executive Director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC)
  • Sonja Bailes, Public Relations Liaison at Bossier Schools.
  • Dottie Howard Bell, Caddo Parish School Board District 12 Board Member
  • Robin Giecek Merkle, Retired Caddo Parish Schools Elementary Educator
  • Jacqueline A. Scott, Attorney at Law for Jacqueline Scott & Associates, APLC
  • Katrina D. Worsham, Chief Executive Officer for Katrina D. Worsham Insurance Agency

Most Influential Young Woman Honorees:

  • Elsie Jane Adams, C.E. Byrd High School
  • Hannah Mae Addison, Haughton High School
  • Shanayia Baker, Bossier High School
  • Ceriah Nicole Cummings, Captain Shreve High School
  • Chloe Liles, C.E. Byrd High School
  • Aashni Shah, Caddo Magnet High School

Patrons can support the event by purchasing individual tickets for $75 or table sponsorships for $1,000. Table sponsorships include luncheon tickets for eight and recognition in the event program, on social media, and on the Holy Angels website. This is the eighth year of this Northwest Louisiana honor, and proceeds will benefit Holy Angels, an independent, nonprofit organization serving over 200 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
