From Howdy Homemade Ice Cream by Holy Angels
BOSSIER CITY, LA – Join Howdy Homemade by Holy Angels for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, April 11, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at their new location, 2850 Douglas Drive in Bossier City. The media and the public are welcome to attend this exciting event and experience “amazing ice cream, served by amazing people!”
Attendees will hear from Holy Angels Executive Team about this unique employment opportunity and enjoy complimentary tastes of Howdy’s fresh, homemade ice cream, including the franchise’s signature flavor, Dr. Pepper Chocolate Chip, and special seasonal flavors, like Coco Banana and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
Franchise creator Tom Landis will also be at the event to talk about what inspired him to open an ice cream shop dedicated to providing employment opportunities for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Franchised by Holy Angels in 2023, Howdy Homemade focuses on employing community members with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Holy Angels opened the first Louisiana-based Howdy Homemade Ice Cream franchise at the Holy Angels David Toms AngelWorks Gift Shop in January 2023. The Bossier City location opened in January 2024, expanding opportunities for community members to participate in meaningful work in a safe, friendly environment.
Customers can enjoy delicious ice cream by the scoop or pint inside the newly decorated Bossier City location. Also available for purchase are the famous Holy Angels Cookies and delicious to-go lasagna, a Central Italian recipe from the Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows prepared with handmade pasta.
