SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – What started as a sketch in a child’s notebook will now leave a lasting impact in Shreveport.
Zoë Brown is the 2024 Film Prize Junior winner. She’s a 15-year-old who loves art, and has big dreams of becoming an animator.
Brown’s film is called Drought, which came to be after going through her sketches with an animator at Disney. From there, Brown worked on her iPad and taught herself how to animate.
“I started learning how to draw and then add a new frames and then draw a little bit of movement and just go little by little,” Brown explained.
That hard work went on for almost two months, and ultimately got her that big prize. Now, her legacy will live on at Southfield School, with her winnings going towards the creation of a film studio.
