A Captain Shreve High School graduate has been named a 2023 Gates Scholar after participating in the Bobbie Cates Hicks Science and Medicine Academic Research Training (SMART) program.
Jaylen Pruiett was one of 759 students nationwide to be selected as part of this prestigious scholarship. The Gates Scholarship, funded through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is highly selective with 51,000 applicants this year.
