Residents came together in unity from throughout the Shreveport-Bossier City area for the annual Haven House Leaders’ Rally last week.

New friendships were made and old friendships renewed as we celebrated the commitment to caring that makes our community a better place. Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart gave an inspiring keynote address at the luncheon, hosted by Mount Canaan Baptist Church.

The theme for this annual encouragement and empowerment event was “Caring Neighbors, Transforming Community.” We saluted our Haven House Leaders, National Night Out Party Hosts, First Responders, our volunteers, partners and funders from across Shreveport–Bossier and the Ark-La-Tex.

Haven House Leaders intentionally build and grow positive and caring relationships at the block level and citywide. Haven House Leaders are dedicated volunteers committed to building safe and caring communities, where children and all neighbors have the opportunity to reach their highest potential.

If you are not yet serving on your block as a Haven House leader, join us at noon this Thursday, Nov. 9, for our next Good Neighbor Seminar. Lunch will be provided at our office at 838 Margaret Place. Call us at 318-425-3222 for more information.
