An incredible performance by Bossier’s TJ Bunnery vaulted the Bossier Bearkats into their home away from home — an LHSAA state championship game — after getting past Minden 51-35 Thursday afternoon in the LHSAA Non-Select Division II semifinal contest in Lake Charles’ Burton Coliseum.

Bunnery collected a double-double of 18 rebounds and 10 points to give the Bearkats (22-10) a chance at a second state title in three years after a stunning reversal of their 2024-25 season. Bossier was 6-10 with no clear vision of what the team needed to do near the start of the new year.

“It really feels good based on where we came from,” coach Justin Collins said. “We had some people we had to remove, but these guys kept fighting and let other things take care of themselves.”
