An Art Exhibition Honoring 100 Years of the Strand Theatre

Friday, August 22 – October 11, 2025

After nineteen months of construction, the Strand Theatre opened its doors on July 3, 1925. Now, 100 years later, we invite you to step behind the curtain to celebrate the legacy of Shreveport’s beloved “Million-Dollar Theatre.”
This exhibit honors the century-long story of the Strand, its resilience through war, closure, restoration, and financial hardship and invites you to experience the soul of this architectural treasure through the eyes of local artists.

As part of the celebration, new, never-before-seen artwork created on-site at the Strand will be unveiled. Local artists were granted exclusive access to the theatre during a special “Plein Air Day,” where they translated its beauty and layered history into original works. Witness the convergence of past and present as these inspired pieces reinterpret the grandeur of Shreveport’s most iconic landmark.

Explore the stories, the architecture, and the artistry that make the Strand Theatre a cultural cornerstone—100 years and counting.
Free and open to the public.
